Jowita Tank Schou – Eternal Photography

About me

I’m an autodidact photographer. Ever since I can remember, I have always been fascinated by art. Admiration for aesthetics, shapes, colors or sometimes the lack of it, fueled my curiosity and heightened senses.

With my first camera I was taught humility and the necessity for looking for solutions in natural light. Also, through various compositions of flowers, plants, landscape, details from everyday life as well as my child’s emotions I found the balance of capturing and expressing motives.

Over time, my photography gained a personal trait and sensitivity.

I discovered the world of documentary photography, not retouched, not lying, real emotions and reactions to current human experiences. For this reason, the project of photographically participating in the birth of newborns was created.

Photography has become a medium for me where I can fully symbolize my feelings. Many of my portraits are nostalgic, suspended in thought, “absent”, somewhere between different worlds, my personal inner image.

For me, a portrait is an image of a close relationship with a human being, bringing out something that is invisible on a daily basis.

Showing beauty in imperfection.

I’m a mom, a wife, I belong to 5 cats. I am an absolute gourmet of coffee, I love nature, open spaces, and the garden.

Music is an invaluable part of my everyday life, from jazz, classical to chillout.

Minimalism is an inseparable part of my everyday life.
